Hello there, and a Happy Saturday to you!
One of the most common things that I’ll often write about in my newsletters (and the highly valued and completely gorgeous and fantastically brilliant subscribers will be able to confirm this to be true – I just had to drop that bit of respect in for you guys, because you all rock) is that I’ve always got plenty going on behind the scenes, even when new material isn’t being released. But I don’t often say what those things are.
And to the casual visitor, you’d be forgiven for thinking that not much is happening on the site as on average I’ve only been posting one article every couple of months. This isn’t enough and that is something that I’m currently addressing (and which is actually going to be touched on in a short article I’m currently writing and will be publishing soon).
Anyway, long story short, I thought it would be a really good idea to use this section as a way of keeping everybody abreast (hehe, I said breast) of all the latest Lossul.com news and developments.
So, let’s get to business.
First and foremost…
Lossul.com is now two years old!
We did it, we made it, and we’re still here! Thank you to every single one of you that has read, shared, liked, commented, subscribed, or been involved in any way whatsoever. This site is nothing without you, and so I am sending a very sincere THANK YOU your way.
Just a couple of days back I released the first part of a brand new Concept Adventure. The new concept involves the well-established activity of wild camping; something that I’d wanted to get into for some time. In the first part (which you can read by clicking here) I look at the background of wild camping, the unwritten rules, and what my concept for these new set of adventures will be. The main part of the story will be released this coming week in two separate parts.
And I can also share that I have a completely separate Concept Adventure currently brewing. I don’t want to say too much about this right now as its inception is dependent upon a number of things coming together successfully, so I don’t want to jinx anything. I’ll let you know how things develop.
I also have three new ‘people‘ features which are coming very close to completion and dare I even say that one of them just may have a prize draw linked to it. So watch this space!
Speaking of which, I always make a promise to the fantastic folk that appear in the ‘people’ section that once their interview is published, it is by no means the end of the relationship. If anything, it is just the beginning. The Latest News section will also be used to promote any of their future work that I feel you’d like to hear about.
For example, do you remember Charlotte Campbell? Well Charlotte’s new album is now out and available to buy; that’s album number three from our favourite busker! Do you remember Sean Davison? Well Sean is continuing with his writing and I hope to have more news about his work in the near future. And do you remember Andrew of Authentic Traveling? Well Andrew has some big news to share with you, when the time is right.
Lossul.com is about way more than my writing; it is about all the people who are doing fantastic things with the time that they have, and it is about getting you guys involved as more than just readers.
If you follow me on Instagram you’ll notice that I’ve changed the page significantly in that rather than just posting random pictures whenever the mood takes me, I have now created one of those funky collages which means the page now includes photos, article links, and general updates, all while taking on a symmetrical pattern. If you’ve not already seen it then please do check it out and feel free to give me a follow.
While we’re on the subject of social media, the Facebook page for Lossul.com has been used primarily for posting out articles, but I’ve also been sharing other people’s work as well as inspirational posts, memes and videos; all of which are along the lines of what this site is all about.
And I mentioned at the start of this post that the website has just approached its second birthday; well, I also have a birthday approaching soon, and it’s a big one. Yep, I will soon be turning 40. The big FOUR-OH!! I mention this to you now as my girlfriend has arranged a surprise foreign adventure for me and I’ve no doubt that it will develop into a big piece of writing, so keep your eyes out in the coming months for another feature length travelogue which no doubt will contain some reflection-on-life-by-a-man-leaving-behind-his-thirties.
And finally, before I sign off for today, do you guys have any questions you’d like to ask? Do you have any recommendations of travel destinations you’ve been to lately? Do you have a story to share? Are you taking on a new project or doing something that’s taking you out of your comfort zone? Or would you like to just share with everybody what you had for dinner last night? As always, please feel free to post your comments below so that myself and any fellow readers can get a conversation going.
Until next time, thank you for reading, and have a fantastically brilliant weekend.
